The chairman in her opening speech welcomed all MDA's present, and thanked the permanent secretaries who took out time to attend the meeting.
DECISIONS AT THE COMMISSION: She said the commission is in charge of decision making, that the commission has found out that sometimes decision taken by CSC is not passed by the MDA’s to officers in charge. That all MDA's should be up and doing in sending memo to their various departments as at when due.
RETIREMENT: Officers due for retirements should be notified as at when due, she appealed that any retirement notice sent to MDA's should be forwarded on time to the officer that is due for retirement, if not the MDA's is putting that officer at risk. She pointed out to an officer who was supposed to have been retired 2010 but wrote his resignation letter to the commission 2020.
PROMOTION: She stated that MDA’S have been trying on promotion issues, but they needs to try more, stating that promotion letters should also be sent as at when due, she also stated that 1,740 officers is due for promotion and will be promoted on the 22nd of August, 2020, that all affected officers should take note. She stated that 21 MDA's out of the 59 is yet to summit their updates/brief for the forth coming promotion.
REVIEW OF SERVICE REGULATION: She informed everyone present that the Civil Service Commission regulations has been reviewed as promised, stating that this will be a guide to all Civil Servants in the state.
DISCIPLINE: She said that the commission will query any ministry/MDA’s who can’t account for any officer off duty for a long period of time, that such ministry will be find. She also said that any officer convicted for any crime should be on interdiction, and after investigation if not guilty should be set free. She urged all MDA’s to always send norminal row every three months.
BREAKDOWN OF STAFF: 59 MDA's with total, 10,265, male 5,572, female 4,693, junior 2,869, senior 7,486. 57 exit.
The Permanent Secretary Basic and Secondary Education thanked the Civil Service Commission on behalf of the MDA's for the fruitful deliberation/discussion between the commission and MDA's.
