Service is the hallmark of leadership. The responsibility of leadership is not one to be placed on people who see it as a reward or as an opportunity to lord it over people. But on those who knows that it is a call to duty, a call to service.
Leadership is very delicate and also very enchanting. Depending on the perception and character of those it is bestowed on, it could either break in his hand or enchant him to see himself as head above all else. This is why it very important that the character, perception and disposition of those it is given be assessed and weighed before entrusting leadership on them.
Premised on the above, leadership must then be used for the good of the people and it should be bestowed on only those who see it as an avenue to serve and service the lives of the people. This is where Rt. Hon. Prince Oyovwikigho Adegor comes in. He is gunning to be the chairman of Ethiope West LGA for one singular reason; to have the opportunity to serve the people. Having lived and worked among the people, he understands the yearnings for aspirations of the people and he wants to take on the responsibility to serve them with humility, excellence and quality.
He counts it a privilege to serve. He is humble enough to know that power intoxicates. And this is where his strength of character shines through, to resist the urge to use the power that leadership brings to suppress and oppress the people. He will use the power that the leadership position of the chairman of Ethiope West LGA brings to serve the people and contribute to the socio-economic development of Ethiope West Local Government Area.
Let us support Rt. Hon. Prince Oyovwikigho Adegor for Chairman, Ethiope West Local Government Area.
