As the old saying goes, "nothing good comes easy." Good governance will require a plan, not just for managing day-day governance issues but to address emerging and anticipated future challenges. The goals of good governance, after all, are people’s security and welfare and the smooth functioning of society.
Hon. Ben Rolland Igbakpa is a great man that's stating the obvious. This is a man I owe so much respect not just because he is a politician but because he has remained a highly principled man over time.
Looking back to the years of his stewardships in government. I have followed Hon. Ben Igbakpa from 2007 and I have come to respect him tremendously because of the love he has for his people 'OGHARA' and Ethiope Federal Constituency. He loves the progress of the people and the unity of the entire Ethiope Federal.
He has been fighting for the sustenance of democracy in this State. Coming in contact with him leaves you with the impression that this is a man you would choose to emulate in all ramifications.
The people want him as a result of his pedigree as somebody you can trust to make things happen and put things right. Everybody cannot be wrong at the sametime. He is recognised as a forthright man whose stance on issues is always tilted towards the truth and he stands by it. This is a man that you cannot cajole into taking decision through flattering.
When he takes a decision on what needs to be done, he goes about it and makes sure it is carried out to the letter.
Hon. Igbakpa, it must also be said is a man that is God fearing and loves his creator. In his native Oghara, where he is planted on the soil of Oghara like a oak tree that can never be rooted, his love for giving to the less privileged in the society is legendary.
A philanthropist of great note, he is not discriminatory to age as he blesses both youths and the old with his God given wealth. Several unemployed youths have been beneficiaries of the job opportunities he has continued to create.
Going by his antecedents, he is surely going to make the Ethiope Federal Constituency and PDP stronger, more united and focused.
No wonder all and sundry refer to him as ‘The People's Choice and Okiemute 2019'. As a man who believes in equity, he is going to make sure that Ethiope Federal Constituency benefits from dividend of democracy.
I want to appeal to fellow party members and Ethiopians to give Hon. Igbakpa all the needed support for him to succeed as his success will not only be for the good of party members but for the generality of Ethiope Federal Constituency.
I pray that God gives this enigma of our time long life and more prosperity so that he can be there for people like us to emulate and come out better citizens of this great nation.
